The Atlantic Attack opened their NRL regular season on Saturday with two victories over the visiting Gatineau Fusion. Martine Caissie slid back into the NRL scoring race (5th) with an impressive 9 points in the two matches.
In game one action, the Attack were trailing 5-3 entering the 4th period. The offense responded with 5 goals to secure an 8-7 win. Caissie scored 4 goals and Nathalie Poirier made 32 saves for the Attack. Game 2 saw goals fast and early as the two teams scored a combined total of 9 goals by the end of the first period. The Attack were leading 5-4 and continued their goal parade to seal an 11-7 victory. NRL rookie Kait Galloway scored her first NRL goal and added two helpers. Jocelyn Landry had a pair of goals and Miguelle Proulx notched 4 assists.
The Attack will have a few weeks off before they host the Cambridge Turbos. The two games will be played in Riverview and Cocagne on Saturday November 12th.
