For a second straight game, the Lac St. Louis Adrenaline offered a solid performance and beat the Gatineau Fusion by a score of 10-5 this past Sunday evening at the Kirkland arena.
After the first two periods which were more of a defensive nature, the Adrenaline's offense got in gear, producing seven goals in the second half. Leading 6-3 after three, the Adrenaline opened the door for Gatineau by getting several penalties in the fourth and the Fusion managed to narrow the gap to just one goal. After getting the seventh goal, head coach Martin Robitaille called a time out to help keep his team on the right track. This proved to be beneficial as the Adrenaline added three more unanswered goals to seal the deal. This was the first time this season that Lac St. Louis scored 10 goals in a game. It needs to be mentionned that the Fusion's goatender, Claudie Carpentier, managed some spectacular saves to keep her team in the game early on.
For the Adrenaline, Annie Lecours Boucher continued her scoring streak, adding three more goals and bringing her total to 13 on the season, good enough for 12th spot in the league. Marilyne Bédard (2g, 3a), Cortney Keeble (2g, 1a), Stephanie Dufresne (1g), Amanda Clarke (1g) and Andrée-Anne Paquet Lajoie (1g, 1a) added the other goals. In her first game with the Adrenaline this season, Caroline Ross had three assists, and Josiane Bordeleau also contributed with four assists. Sarah Bernard-Lacaille played a very strong game defensively, like the rest of the defensive brigade, which earned her the game star for the team. The win was registered by goaltender Sophie Gagnon who now has a record of four wins and three losses.
The Adrenaline's next game will take place Sunday November 30 at 1PM at the Vaudreuil arena against le Royal de Bourassa. This is a crucial matchup for both teams as le Royal is only one point ahead of Lac.St. Louis in the standings.
