Cambridge Turbos crowned NRL champions

Cambridge Turbos claimed the National Ringette League title after downing Montreal Mission 2-1 in the NRL final of the 2008 Tim Hortons Canadian Ringette Championships held in St. Albert, Alberta. Individual achievement awards were presented to Stephanie Seguin (Saint-Laurent, Quebec) and Jacqueline Gaudet (Cambridge, ON), while the defensive game star award was presented to Cecilia Anderson (Saint-Laurent, Quebec).

"We never let up all week and everything came together," said Mississauga's Christina Mascherin, who scored the winning goal for Cambridge. "Our first goal was a turning point in the game and we knew if we kept shooting we would get more and come out on top."
